About the Program

Supported by GE HealthCare, Mentoring for Success is designed to help you grow through meaningful, one-on-one connections with peers across the country — and around the world. Whether you're looking to share your experience or gain a fresh perspective, the platform makes it easy to connect, learn, and lead together.

Register as a mentor or mentee to get started. Mentees are able to browse the database of mentors and request to connect. All participants have the ability to accept or decline connection invitations and have exclusive access to the Mentor Program Community — an online discussion forum to share resources and support one another’s professional development.

Melissa Ramos, CRA, Mentee

Ramos shares that her Mentoring for Success experience was most impactful through building a trusted relationship with Brandi who offered honest guidance, relatable leadership insight and supportive perspective that helped her confidently stay on her chosen career path.

Reflecting on your Mentoring for Success relationship, what was the most impactful outcome?

"For me, the most impactful thing was getting to know Brandi and collaborating with her to talk through tough work situations that we face daily as leaders. Sometimes it is just nice to know someone is out there experiencing the same thing or maybe they have been through it and have insight. Brandi is down to earth and gave me guidance on many occasions. She is inspiring- from when we first met- the challenges she faces daily in her current role, and she makes time for others- she’s, my superhero! I had a job offer that was not necessarily on my career path that Brandi and I had discussed. She didn’t discourage me from considering it but had me look at all the angles. In the end, it wasn’t right for me, and I turned it down and staying on my path. But having that honest feedback was valuable."

What was an unexpected benefit of participating in this program?

"Just being more involved in AHRA-so far, the expectations I had were met."

Would you recommend participation in the Mentoring for Success program to other AHRA members?

"Yes, mentoring is so valuable. I have a few mentors within my organization that help guide me by helping to frame everything we do back to our company mission and vision. However, having a mentor through AHRA takes mentoring a step further by providing those outside eyes, and expertise of someone being in a different organization and maybe they have been then and done that. We can share successes and failures without judgements and having a safe space for discussions."

1) COMPLETE YOUR PROFILE

Update your profile. Make sure your contact information is up to date, add a recent professional profile picture, expand on your bio and complete your education and job history. Having a complete and accurate profile is crucial to the success of selection and matching.

2) ENROLL

Are you looking to be a mentor or mentee? Perhaps both? Sign up below:

• Enroll as a Mentor
• Enroll as a Mentee

Set your demographic preferences such as topics, career stage, and start/end dates. The more information you provide, the easier it will be to make the best match. In order to request a mentor or mentee, you must be enrolled in the program.

3) SEARCH

You can then search for Mentors or Mentees depending on your goal. After searching for members, you can view their mentoring profile to see how you can work more effectively together!

You can also take advantage of features to help you find and recruit matches:

  • Track your mentoring relationships
•   Participate in discussion forums on mentoring topics
•   Search for helpful mentoring resources

4) CONNECT

Click on the member's name that you're interested in establishing a mentor/mentee connection with to go to their profile page. If it's a desired match, click on the Mentor Match badge under their profile image to request a connection. Or, simply use the back button to return to your previous search results.
